Lagging. A lot.

Hi, I've been playing the sims 4 for a while, but it has been lagging since forever. Lately I couldn't stand it anymore and did some research about my laptop and it looks like it would be able to run Sims 4 quite nicely. I have an ASUS laptop, with an intel core i7, with intel iris xe graphics card. I'm running sims on laptop mode, with almost all settings set to low, and it's lagging very badly. Everything lags, normal speed, manage worlds, everything. Please help!
