Sims 4 won’t open

I saw that this was often asked for so I included it below.

Me too this is day 2 of me trying and I'm getting so frustrated lol

so glad it's not just me - I think I've done every possible route lol

I am having a similar issue, I can't get the Sims 4 to load past the first loading screen. I've tried restarting my computer, clearing my cache, uninstalling and reinstalling, checked system updates, uninstalled and reinstalled the EA app, Uninstalled and reinstalled with only the base game, tried loading without internet, nothing seems to work. Started yesterday for me. 

How did you solve it? Because I'm having the same problem, I've tried everything, I don't understand what's wrong.😭😭😭😭😭

Yeah same, I've tried all I know how to do. It doesn't even show me the loading screen, it just sends me right back to origin.

djbrinsky  Thanks for the dxdiag.  Because it's simple, please move the Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop, and see whether the game loads.  If it does, your saves and user data won't be present, but you can restore that later—it will all be intact in the folder you moved.  For now though, just try to start a new save and see how it runs.

Please also make sure the EA App itself is loading properly, as in, you can see your game library and launch Sims 4 from there.

or put the laptop in night mode before launching the game.

Zemoxia25  The folder to move is the one in Documents.  Is it an actual duplicate of the one in C:\Program Files or wherever you found the other?  As in, do these contain the same data?  If so, please let me know what data is there, not just "a Sims 4 folder" (for example) but what's inside.

What do you mean, you can't find Sims 4 in your graphics section?  I'm not sure where you're looking or what you're trying to do here, so please let me know.

Please also let me know what antivirus you use, and whether OneDrive is running on your computer, even if you never use it.

Yes it was a complete duplicate, with the same information in all the folders as the one in my documents. I’ve removed my mods folder as well from both, but they did not change anything.

I was referencing the graphics section from my display settings because of a reference link about changing the settings for TS4. I didn’t see an option to find/change anything for TS4 launcher.

Yes I use Onedrive and I use Avast antivirus. I tried to change any settings needed in avast but it seemed like it wasn’t blocking anything for EA so I’m not sure there…. 

I did clear my cache multiple times, stopped EA and Steam in my task manager multiple times but to of no avail. I’ve considered transferring my saves file into a flash drive, and uninstalling and reinstalling sims but would that even work? I’m afraid to even test that because I’ve been playing this save file for a long time 😭.

I did see about 16 people report the same problem in steam in the past 10 days as well!
