Laptop for Sims

Hi all, I'm considering getting a better laptop to play Sims 4 on, but I wanted to see what others though since I'm not very familiar with computer components. The two that I'm thinking about are: ...

    @Bcky44  Both of those laptops would run all of TS4, now and through the entire run of the game, on the highest graphics settings.  From the reviews, there's no real reason to spend the extra money on the Asus.  Although Acer has had a reputation for cutting corners in its cheaper laptops, the Predator line is much better than the Nitros or Aspires.

    Also, $900 is an excellent price.  You'll want to buy a second hard drive and install it yourself—256 GB isn't really enough for more than Windows and one game.  But you could get even a 1 TB SSD and still save a lot of money overall.  The Acer has a user-accessible bay for any 2.5" drive.  Here are some good options:

    In each case, the second is better than the first, and also more expensive, although both differences are small.  The 1 TB version of the Adata Ultimate SU800 is actually a bit faster than the Samsung Qvo, but the Samsung will last longer.  (If you really want to splurge, get a Samsung 860 Evo.)

    As far as Sims 5 goes, it's years away, too far out to make any predictions.  It may be time to replace the laptop you buy now regardless of how strong its hardware is initially.  I don't think there's any way to futureproof for TS5, other than to build your own PC and plan on upgrading the graphics card when the time comes.

@puzzlezaddict Thank you so much for this easy-to-understand reply! I figure with the Sims I don't need a super robust gaming computer, but I'm sick of the lag I get and want to play with bigger, more intricate houses and larger families. Thanks again!
