Laptop storage is acting as if the sims is downloaded however I cannot open it

I tried to re-download the sims from the EA app while having sufficient storage. The download never completed for reasons I am unsure of however after cheking my available storage I realised that I had a lot less than before. So my storage is acting as if the sims is downloaded on my laptop, or atleast partially downloaded, however I cannot open it or try to download it again.

I really don't know what's happened and I wouldn't even know where to start with trying to fix this issue, so any help would be appreciated.

  • Caitlin06Trees  Please clear the EA App's cache and restart your computer.

If that doesn't help, please look for any Sims 4-related data in C:\Program Files\EA Games, or whatever the default install location is within the EA App.  That would be listed under Settings > Downloads.  If you find a folder, go ahead and delete it, then empty the recycle bin and restart your computer.

You'll need to close the EA App and kill the EABackgroundService in the Task Manager in order to delete any game data; the latter would be in the background processes list.
