Literally cannot play the game due to lag.

I've been trying to fix the game since 10/6. I was able to download the new Adventure Awaits pack and the update, and played fine (even with CC and Mods) on 10/3. All of a sudden on 10/6, I tried to load it up and its unbelievably laggy. It takes about 3-5 seconds for the game to register where my mouse is hovering/clicking, making the game impossible to play.

I deleted all cc and mods, reinstalled the sims and the EA app after uninstalling them several times, tried repairing the game, updated my computer and graphics etc, to no avail.

I waited 3 hrs with EA chat for them to tell me I just have to be patient and for my "bug" to be taken seriously, I have to use EA forums and get it "upvoted" in order to be fixed???

All I want to do is play the game. I just spent another $40 on this franchise and I haven't even been able to play it for more than 30 min the day I downloaded it on 10/3!!

  • hayesb1395​  Did you move the Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts as part of your test?  If not, please try that now.

    Please also try playing with your computer offline.  You can put the EA App in offline mode, then disable wifi and/or disconnect the ethernet cable before pressing Play.

    If that doesn't help, please provide a dxdiag.  Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.
