Low FPS with good hardware

I have been with the FPS for a long time with two worlds once in Ciudad Enamorada in the neighborhood “Plaza Mariposa”. And now with the new expansion pack “Enchanted by Nature” in all three new neighborhoods. When I scroll out to see everything, the FPS goes down to below 40 - 50 FPS (In the worst case 30 FPS) and despite good hardware. This also applies to bulit lots.

Hardware:
Windows 10
AMD Ryzen 7 3700x (8x, 3.60 GHz)
RTX 4060
SSD 1 TB
32 GB RAM

Game Settings:
Everything to the max (Ultra), but it can't be possible to have such a low FPS when zooming out on good hardware!

Game-Version:
1.116.223.1030 (DirectX 11)

Packs:
I own all the packs.

Other:
Yes, the graphics driver is up to date.
Yes, cache has been cleared.
Yes, the game has been repaired

UPDATE (11/07/2025):

Tested in different worlds. The result was that the newer worlds are not optimized or the engine, whatever the problem is. It should be tackled!

If you also have good hardware, then it's not up to you!

You don't need to change everything, at least not at first—it seems that the important detail is how often the game needs to switch between LODs.  So if you increase all the LOD distances to close to the max, and therefore let the game render everything at the highest level of detail most of the time, you'll get much less switching and hopefully better performance.

I tried this, but with “Everdew” in “Innisgreen” I still have, if I zoom way out, I still stay at ~47 FPS on DirectX 11. With DirectX 9 I have ~67 FPS though! How can it be that with DX11 I only have 20 FPS less than with DX9? Is DX11 still in Beta?

  • T0RN_x  DX11 is still technically in beta, and if you want to report your findings, here's the place to do it:

Please attach a dxdiag to your post, for reference, and note the results before and after the .sgr edits.

It's also possible that the new world isn't as optimized as others at this point.  That isn't even speculation on my part, just noting that new content can have its issues.

I'll do it sometime. 😁 But I have one question. I just tested again, zoomed extra way out again and got 57 FPS in DX9 with the adjustments. Is that normal? 🤔

  • T0RN_x  You're asking the game engine to render a lot of objects when you zoom way out, and you might also have zoomed far enough that you're forcing it to switch LODs.  So I don't know if it's normal, but it's certainly not surprising.

Then it's probably not my PC, but the game engine, good. 😅
