MISSING GALLERY ITEMS

@Foxley828  Are your saves missing too?  And are you saying that your saved downloads are missing, as in they're not on your computer anymore, or that your uploads to the Gallery don't show up when you access the Gallery online, or both?  If you haven't checked both, please do, and let me know.

@Foxley828  Please go into Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 > Tray and post a screenshot of the contents.  Please also let me know whether OneDrive is running, even if you never use it, and whether it contains any Sims 4 data.

How do I do I post a screenshot here please?  (Sorry not very tech savvy)

There are a lot of items in the tray too many for one screenshot - so do I just take the shot of the first few?

I never use one drive - never have.  I checked there are no sims items in there.

As far as I can tell  it's not running.  I've never signed into it.

@Foxley828  Click Windows key-shift-S, then drag your cursor over the section of screen you want to capture.  The screenshot will show up in a notification in the lower-right corner of your screen.  Click on this, and you can edit it and save it to your desktop (or wherever you want) from there.

For the Tray folder, click the date modified header, which you can only see in detail mode, so that the newest files are listed first.  You might have to click twice to organize it this way.  Then just post a screenshot of those newest items.

To post the screenshot itself, click Reply (not Quick Reply), then click the Browse button below the text field and next to the paper clip icon, and select your screenshot.  Repeat as necessary.  Alternately, you can click the Insert Image button above the text field; it's two to the right of the emoji button.

Followed your instrustions hope I did this right. That's the tray contents with the latest items.  I'm playing the new expansion so most of them are today.or yesterday.

@Foxley828  Are the items from today and yesterday showing up in-game?  Do you see any Tray files from before you switched to the EA App?  If you do, please post a screenshot of those files so I can see whether anything appears to be missing or corrupt.

Two screenshots of my tray in descending order.  All items from today and yesterday showing up.  The only file from before the switch is the one for December 2020.  I switched to the app on the 7th March 2023 at 8.34pm UK time.  I hope this helps.  I've been playing the sims for years and had a lot of items in the personal gallery.  Sad that they might be gone for good now.

@Foxley828  Please move the entire Tray folder to the desktop and launch the game, which will create a new, empty Tray folder.  Close the game and go into the old Tray folder, copy the files timestamped 07/03/2023 22:12, all five of them, and paste them into the new Tray folder.  Then see the corresponding item, and there should be just one, shows up.

If it doesn't, delete the new copies of those files (but leave the originals intact), and repeat the process for the files saved that day at 22:50.  This time, there should be quite a few items; let me know how many show up in-game.

I followed your instructions. 

First I copied the first five files from 7/03/23 and pasted them into the tray folder.

You were right - I had just one item show up in the gallery with that experiment.  One household.

Next I tried pasting the other files you suggested, just to see what happened,  but again only had only one item show up in the gallery .  This time it was a different household.

Does this shed any light on the problem?

I really appreciate you taking the time to help work this out.  Even if the end result means I never get my items back - I will still be very grateful for the time spent helping me.  I'm learning a lot myself.
