So, for some reason when I click the computers in The Sims 4, the choices for actions on the computer don't appear. It says they're usable, but trying to click them yields no results. There's no 'Play Game' or 'Troll teh Forums' or anything, however, the sims themselves will autonomously use it, leaving me with no control over how, when, or why they use the computer. I did several ideas such as: Deleting everything the computer is connected to, resetting the sim, resetting the Documents>Electronic Arts>The Sims 4 file, and pretty much every other 'solution' I could find. Any ideas?

Hi! @crinrict @HH546 I've managed to solve the problem [at least on my end]It had something to do with my vampire pack that went wrong. Origin lost connectivity and when the games download got to 90% it disappeared meaning it was ghosting in my game.I deleted the files [GP04] within the sims 4 and I also remembered I'd installed Sims 4 studios and uninstalled that in case that was causing any problems too.Now I've removed both things [even though origins still thinks I have vampires installed] I can click on both computers and bookcases in both new and old saves.I've no idea if this will help you @HH546 but if you have any faulty files or studios installed then I guess it's worth a shot!Thanks and good luckRed.

Funny thing, as of the latest update and expansion pack, I can now use computers again, even with mods. Thanks for trying to help, ttyl if I have another issue.

Well, I tried it, but I still have no access to the computer. I even tried making a new save with the mods being gone, that didn't work. Any other ideas?

Try resetting your user files as described in the factory reset described in this post: http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-4/FAQ-Troubleshooting-Steps-amp-Known-Issues/m-p/3621199

You won't loose anything. Just make sure to not delete any files and make a backup.

After renaming, repair your game by right clicking on the game in Origin.

Try on a new game with nothing added back first (start new game). If it works, put back your save game and try again. If it still works, you can start putting stuff back.

Options.ini (or just re-set all your settings manually)

Tray Folder

Screenshots/Videos/Custom music

Rest of the save games (leave out slot_00000001.save which is the autosave and no longer needed - if you still have it)

Custom content like clothing, hair, skins, make up ....

Mods (one by one, making sure they all still work)

The rest does not need putting back, cause they are mostly cache files that recreate or log files that are not needed for the game.

Is the computer menu the only one where you have issues or are you missing other interactions ?

Did you also repair the game ?

And I assume it doesn't matter which computer you use ?

Could you try a new windows user ? Just create a new user then start the game form there. You will not see any of your files cause you're on a different user. Start a new save yet again and check if that helps.
