I have the same problem. I tried on several computers but i receive the error everytime. Even when i reinstalled my computer several times, im receiving the same error. When i run ActivationUI.exe as administrator nothing happens either. Im having this problem 2 days now, i am thinking about returning the game. its eating me up.
I had the same problem!
I did a few things, including
Opening my firewall and allowing all the sims 4 files
I also opened internet explorer> opened up origin in IE without signing in, I clicked the settings icon at top right of browser> clicked 'internet options' > security tab> trusted sites (window popped up with the origins website in the 'add this website to the zone' box)> click add> click close
After doing these things I had to shutdown my laptop for a while and reboot it, it then loaded the sims 4 no problem!
My firewall is still active and sims 4 is still loading fine.. If you try the above and it still doesn't work then I hope you find something that does!
EA needs to do a lot of thinking and mending!!!
