Solved

My document files are gone

This happened the day after I updated origin. I tried to log into the sims and none of my mods showed up or were at all registered by the game. I turned mods off then back on and reloaded the game and they still weren't showing up. I tried deleting the documents file and reloading the game but when I opened the game it didn't create another document file so now I don't know where I am supposed to put my mods. How do I get the game to create a new folder or where can I put mods? The game still opens and plays normally but the files aren't there anymore.

    @regulus-blakc,

    Please try this:

    • Make a backup of all files in Documents and Pictures.
    • Go to system tray (the area next to the clock on the task bar).
    • Right click on OneDrive icon and click on Settings.
    • Go to the Autosave tab.
    • On the section "Choose where to save your documents and pictures", select "This PC" on both Documents and Pictures.
    • Save this settings and try the game again.

    Ok, so something went wrong. The 'The Sims 4' files should be in the 'Electronic Arts' which should be located in the 'Documents' folder.

    That will give you the path: Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4

    Can you make sure they are located there. The game looks for that order, and make sure you overwrite any that already may be there.

    The path for it is correct but it's just not showing up in my game. It's not recognizing anything in the folders

  • I have the latest version of Windows 10, I just updated it the other day.
