My game doesnt work properly

Ever since the newest July update my game doesn't work properly. My game starts and seems like its working but when I press play on a household or place down a lot it takes me back to the world selection screen. I heard Deligracy say that you had to take out your mods folder for the update to work, but I don't know what that means. Please someone give me an answer as soon as possible!!!!
