My Game Is Constantly Crashing

Hi, I noticed that everyone is having similar issues to the game crashing because of the past update, just like me. My Game was already malfunctioning by not being able to read WW script files, then after I ofc did everything I was supposed to do to figure out that problem then having to update my game in the middle of it all, my game now just completely crashes after the title screen! No mods, no anything and now im trying to uninstall and reinstall it now to see if that will work but now the download is just stuck on 2% :( someone please help!!

  • jordanexotic05  If you haven't been able to reinstall Sims 4, please restart your computer and make sure the EA App is NOT running, not even the EABackgroundService in the Task Manager's background processes list.

Open Windows Settings > Apps, scroll down to the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables, click on any version from 2015 or later, and select Uninstall.  Don't touch the older versions.  You can download the newest runtimes directly from Microsoft:

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-US/cpp/windows/latest-supported-vc-redist?view=msvc-170

You'll need both the x86 and x64 versions of the 2015-2022 runtimes, but you can skip the ARM version, which is for a different class of device.  Restart your computer after installing and before trying to reinstall the game.  Clear the EA App's cache too:

    https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/faq/clear-cache-to-fix-problems-with-your-games/

If your game is still crashing, please try playing in a clean user folder.  Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop.  When you launch the game, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you've moved but temporarily unread by the game.)  Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just start a new save and see how it runs.

If that doesn't help, please provide a dxdiag.  Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.
