My Sims 4 Game Not Saving On Mac, Mods/Custom Content

I haven't been on the Sims in a few months, and I just did 2 days ago, had the game update, and noticed that the game I've been trying to play for as long as possible will not make any more saves. I have mods, but I've been removing some mods each time I go on the game, and it does notify me that some are missing, but the game still will not save. It will keep the saving screen up for hours, and the only way I can get it to stop is by force quitting the game. I do have the older saves, though.

I haven't tried to remove all of my mods/custom content for fear that it will mess up the game even more since a lot of my Sims use mods (I only have mods/custom content for Create A Sim), but I have deleted the game and redownloaded it (keeping all the files), but again it did not save my game. I also noticed before I redownloaded the game, one of the expansion packs on the main screen showed up as a llama, but upon redownloading it, it went back to normal. I'm not quite sure how I should go about fixing this, because I'd like to keep my game and my mods.

After last patches, a lot of mods and CC are not working anymore. Check if there are the new updated version of this mods

Move the mods folder to the desktop.
Delete localthumbcache.package file in the game folder
    Fix the game in Origin.
Turn on the game to create a new, empty mods folder. Check if a game is working now without mods.
Then copy from desktop your mods and CC and paste it in the new mods folder. First, paste script mods every time checking if the game is OK. Do the same with CC but if you have a lot of this, try the 50/50 method

    I don't work for EA

I do think it is an issue with my custom content now that I've followed what you said. I've had an issue before with mods, but this time there was no error code to tell me what was wrong. Thank you!
