New computer advice
Hi Im looking to buy a new desktop computer (including screen) OR laptop (preferably NOT a mac). I know zero about computers.... please help! I want to be able to play ALL of the expansions, kits,...
@missmlv88 Are you ready to buy now, or are you earlier in the process? I ask because I could list specific computers for you to consider, but they won't necessarily be available, or the same prices, or the best options, in a few months or even a few weeks. If you're still considering your options, I could instead list the specs to look for so you can do your own shopping (and possibly come back with links and a request for a second opinion) when you're ready. Even if you're ready to buy now, I'd be happy to simply list specs if you want to pick out your own system, but a lot of people find it easier to deal with specific recommendations.
$1,500-2,000 AUD is more than enough for a great system for Sims 4; it's not necessary to spend more than that to get everything possible out of the game.
If you are buying now, please decide whether you want a laptop or a desktop. Laptops are typically the cheapest low-end gaming systems once you factor in the cost of a monitor, but desktops give you more power for components of the same name, and they're much more upgradable and repairable. The last time I checked the Australian market, it was also easy and not too expensive to configure a desktop to be exactly what you want, as opposed to being at the mercy of the laptop manufacturers' decisions. On the other hand, desktops are obviously not portable. So please figure out what works for you and let me know.
