No Sound

everything else on my PC works fine, all other games from steam, etc. i have tried:

- updating drivers

- restarting PC

- checking volume mixer (sims 4 doesn't show up here at all, even in windowed mode)
- deleting config and options files
- repairing TS4 game

- removed all mods

aaand i'm at a loss now. it's like the game doesn't even exist to my sound system. please help!

  • @godgirlsims  Do you play through Steam or the EA App?  Have you by chance added the -nosound command line argument at some point?  It's occasionally recommended for troubleshooting reasons, and a few players over the years have forgotten they applied it.  In the EA App, it would be under Sims 4 > Manage > View properties.

Please also make sure that sound isn't turned off in the game options.  Deleting options.ini should have fixed that, but a syncing error (such as with OneDrive) could interfere here.

If that's not the issue, please run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.
