(PC) Game freezes randomly after the latest patch

Since the last patch that brought back pregnancy my game randomly freezes so bad I have to do a ctrl-alt-delete forced shutdown to get out of it. Then I can restart, play a little longer and suddenly it just stops again. Tried to wait out but it didn't unfreeze in over 30 minutes.

I don't play with mods or cc, and never had this extreme kind of freezes before this latest patch. The last time it happened I didn't even get to start playing, the freeze happened while I was looking at the world screen. The other times it been in live mode and in build mode too.

  • LadyAriancia  That is a problem with OEM systems, although I would be surprised if this computer couldn't take a SATA SSD.  Regardless, if it's time to move on, it's time.

Feel free to ask for any help you might want in picking out a new computer, or just a second opinion on what you pick out.  I'm not assuming you do need help, just offering if you want to talk it over.

I got my new computer and played sims 4 for about 3 hours, not even a hint of crashing or even lag, even if sims 4 told me it doesn't recognize my graphic card (AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT). Adding DxDiag if anyone is curious but so far so good.

  • I'm having the same issue. It's happening with an older legacy save and a new save. I had no issue before the latest update. All my mods are up to date. I'm playing on a MacBook.

  • LadyAriancia  I'm glad to hear your new computer is working out.  You can ignore the unrecognized video card error, as it only affects the default graphics settings the game chooses, and you can change the settings regardless.  The game's database hasn't been updated in a while, so newer cards are missing.
