Please update your game via Origin to play

    Nothing like being a simmer and fixing you're own problem without EAs help. 

    All I did was go to documents- electronic arts and then delete my entire Sims 4 folder. Then I went back into the EA app and launched Sims.

    Please be sure to save a copy of your Tray folder for your library and saves for your save files. Add these back in later.

Had this error happen to me today after uninstalling and reinstalling the game. I did delete my Sims 4 folder before re-install. For me, the error was caused by the default.ini file I keep in ConfigOverride (I use it to hide the plumbob so I don't have to type to hide headline for pictures). I had copied my old default.ini over and it caused the error. Thought I'd share since it's more specific.
