Problem with downloading on PC using Hard disk

I am trying to download The Sims 4 on my external HDD, but I keep getting an error: "There’s a problem with your download." My PC has limited space, so I cannot install the game on my laptop. I have already formatted the HDD to NTFS, created a folder called "EA Games", cleared temporary EA files, and run EA App as administrator.

Platform: PC with Windows Install location: E:\EA Games (External HDD)

Could you please help me fix this issue so I can download the game directly to my external HDD? pleas I want to playyy

    Aljohrah11​  Are you willing and able to erase the external drive?  If so, format it as something else (FAT32 for example), then back to NTFS.  Create the folder called EA Games again on the external, and set that as your default install location in the EA App.  Try downloading only the base game first; you can add all your owned packs later if this works.
