Ambrosia has been broken for quite a while now. Hasn't worked in years. I usually go through the process to create the ambrosia, and when it inevitably fails, I just cheat the "died from" trait off the sim. Original bug report was submitted way back in 2018... Now THAT's a forgotten bug...
The bathtub problem is a known bug. If you have cheat commands, testingcheats, you can shift-click and select "repair", but if you're on console, all you can do is re-purchase it.
