Nope, I don't remember doing that and this folder is empty.

@sterobeuk did you check what version showed in your game before you changed the file (at the bottom of the main menu). Was that also wrong ?

Yes. When I first posted about my problem I checked the game version that was in the game, not in the file.

Yes I'm using Avast.

I used this method (comparing the two numbers) and it worked. The number in my file was different from the game version. It's working fine now.

I also use Avast and I haven't had any trouble so far but I'll make a note of that in case I have problems some other time.
