Re: Graphics card not recognized

I'm having a similar problem. I am trying to play on my gaming laptop, and for some reason when I try to open the game, it tells me "can't run the Sims 4 with the video card in this system." I have restarted and updated my laptop, updated the Sims 4, and installed the latest drivers, and nothing has worked. Help?

For info, my graphics card is NVIDIA Geforce RTX 4060

I've solved the issue! Yay!! If anyone else is having this problem, make sure this setting is "OFF" in your settings! (Only applicable for windows, I have not tried this for Mac.)

  • Watson_z_221B  I've split your post into its own thread because you posted in a Sims 3 thread about an unrecognized, not unusable, graphics card.

Please provide a dxdiag.  Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.

Please also let me know what antivirus you use.

  • Hello!

Thank you for your help in putting my post in the proper place! I've not used Forums before.

I'm not sure what antivirus I use, can you direct me to figuring that out?

Also, I'm a very wary person when it comes to putting information online. Is it safe to put all this information about my laptop on a public forum? Is there maybe a section of it that would be helpful for you that I can screenshot and just put that screenshot in?

    Thank you for your help!
