On other non-military Sims.  It used to work like that.  You think I should try the training bot instead?  Great idea!  I'll be back to say if that works, because I have one on the lot.

I started a new Sim in the Military career and am able to do all the tasks at this point.
Still playing the save to let him level up skills and job naturally. {No mods or cheats}
Please let us know if you are still having trouble.
What level did your Sim start the career?

Yes, this worked.  Up until this rank, I was able to give orders to anybody, which addresses the other respondent.  Using the bot worked and slowly at that.  LOL  Have to cue the orders up a few times before daily task is complete.  Thanks @EuphorialQueen!
