Re: Sims 4 - Connected EA and Epic Games Accounts Problem on Game Launch
@puzzlezaddict
I will try to reply to the things you wrote with the same order you wrote them;
When i search the game from my epic games library by typing 'The Sims 4' there is no result, like i never added it to my library (I just realized that btw)
When i search it from the Epic store it shows the game as in my library (there is no get the game/purchase the game option)
Also it is always on quick launch panel as long as both EA and Epic launchers are open.
Reason of the game being in my Epic game library with details:
I remember adding it more than a year ago because there was a free promotion (this one on the reddit link)
reddit.com/r/Sims4/comments/13eweys/a_guide_to_the_recent_free_sims_4_expansions_on/
That is also the time i connected both accounts to each other because there was no other way to get that promotion.
As mentioned in the link these dlcs were free:
Game Pack: Jungle Adventure
Stuff Pack: Luxury Party
Kit: Fashion Street
I just added these to my epic account alongside base game but never installed these, including base game. Any Sims 4 related things i installed and played was always from EA app. You may think 'Maybe you own one or more of these packs you just mentioned ONLY through Epic and actually not purchased it from EA, this may be why EA opens Epic while launching the game' ...Yes, EA shows products from other clients but only allows to play content from 1 client, as far as i know you can't combine different content/dlc from different clients. (Example: I have 'My first pet stuff' through steam, when i click on Sims 4, then manage add-ons from EA app i can see that stuff pack in my library as a Steam product, it only shows me that i own it but does not allow me to install it or reach the content in any way, it just shows i own that product through steam. I can't see these packs in the same separate list, they are in the same installed content list with all of my other EA purchased dlcs)
Quoting: The facts that reinstalling didn't help and that having an EA Play subscription does help suggest that you might in fact have the Epic version on your account. >>
I think that can only happen if Epic and EA versions of the base game have exactly same files, including registry files....which sounds a bit weird and amateur-ish for 2 companies like Electronic Arts and Epic Games. When i think about such a possibility, i can't help but also think 'Only 2 newbie 1 person devs can do such a mistake and don't care about it for more than 2 years.
Again, thanks for your time and interest for my problem PuzzleHero, huggies 🙂
