Hi! I cannot find the items in build mode. Tried searching boney and it didn't show up.
For the crashing, it doesn't matter. Any item seems to crash the game at some point. Have had that happen in different lots and saves too. I've attached the dxdiag below.
Thanks!! 🙂
I am having the same issue, it does not matter what lot i am using or how small the build or changes made are, any attempt to return to manage worlds after entering buildmode causes the main screen to go black while still displaying the games frame (ie the items menu and build mode buttons) and any attempt to close out other than through task manager does not work. The game worked normally on Monday, but by Wednesday it was crashing as described above. As far as im aware I did not update the game in-between so im unsure why this is occuring
@Ajade_x For the crashing, please try forcing the game to run in DirectX 11 mode. Open your EA App game library, click Sims 4 > Manage > View properties, and enter -dx11 in the command line box.
For the missing items, I double-checked my game, and the boneys are under Decorations > Misc, and they do show up in a search. I'm not sure why you can't find them, but as a test, please move accountDataDB.package to the desktop. It's in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4. Don't delete it though—if it's broken, as in, removing it and letting the game generate a new one fixes the issue, I'd love a copy to poke at myself. If you're willing, please upload it to a third-party filesharing site (e.g. Google Drive) and link it here.
If you still can't see the item, please repair the game and test again, still with no mods or custom content present.
@techturndudebro Please run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.

Hi! So for the crashing, running the game in dx11 worked!🙂
I only played for about 30 mins but no crashing. Just to double check, I went back and removed the command and sure enough, game crashed in build mode almost instantly. Thanks a lot! Any idea why that might happen?
And for the missing items, both generating a new accountDataDB.package and reparing the game did not help. Also something I've just noticed is that weirdly enough I cannot see the boneys, but I can find the grimaphone.
@Ajade_x The crashing in DirectX 9 mode is common with Intel Iris Xe graphics chips, as your laptop has. Why exactly this happens, on a hardware/driver level, is beyond my understanding, but the errors are very clear, and everyone who's tried DirectX 11 mode has said it fixed the issue. Since DX11 mode is going to be the standard in the near future, this is a problem that will resolve itself.
For the missing items, can you buy any others, for example the Green Lady's Lost Tome? (That should show up during week 2.) What expansion/game/stuff packs do you own? If you compare the tasks you've been offered with the ones in various online guides, were you missing any? I ask because some tasks are tied to certain packs, and perhaps the game is skipping items—for example the skill books and potions—that you could get another way, the idea being that you can still earn all unique rewards with only the base game.
you saved my kitchens. Now i can build top shelfs, before it just crashed the game if i wanted to place them. Thank youuuu . So so so much ! ❤️

I am having the same problem. All my drivers are up to date and yet build mode is still crashing even when changing lots. What's going on? :(
