@Jenniexx14 Have you tried setting exceptions in AVG for TS4_x64.exe and Origin.exe, as described in this article?

- 4 years ago@puzzlezaddict yes, I actually followed that article this morning and it hasn't worked. I am worried that me messing about changing things, attempting to fix it, may have made things worse! I've reinstalled sims and origin multiple times, deleted my mods and more, but nothing has worked.

@Jenniexx14 Please try disabling AVG entirely, at least long enough to test. Then repair the game in Origin: open your game library, right-click on the Sims 4 icon, and select Repair. If you can now play, the issue is AVG, and we can go from there; if you still can't, the issue is something else.
If you can't play with AVG disabled, please run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.
