Close Origin and then go to   C / Program Files (x86) / Origin Games

Once you are in the Origin folder go into your Sims 4 Folder / _Installer /DirectX / redist

Once you are in this folder you will notice a bunch of .rar's.

Delete ALL of the .rar files OUT of the redist folder.

DO NOT DELETE: DSETUP.dll, dsetup32.dll, or DXSETUP.exe

Once the redist folder only has those 3 files that you DIDN'T delete are left, go back into Origin and hit the "Ready to Install" button again and i think you should by fine.🙂

NOTE if you have Windows 10 and your issue persist...

@yahel_1 I do have Windows 10 and I installed those programs again (excluding the .arm) but still no fix. I also do have the MSVCP120.dll.

@sarahthec you have restarted your PC? and if your issue persist you give REPAIR ?

this worked for me, i had the missing MSVCP120.dll error. i just downloaded all three. two didnt want to be installed the third file allowed itself to install and that fixed the issue. when the other two told me they didnt need to be installed i just closed them out. after the 3rd one installed, i rebooted, everything works. thanks for posting this fix

Note: I did repair with the x86, and installed the x64 .exe files to make the error go away. The .arm could not be installed.

@yahel_1 I took the newly downloaded vcredist_x64.exe and put it in my The Sims 4/_Installer/vc2013 folder. I took the 64 bit that was already in the folder and put it on my desktop. I also repaired the new 64 bit which prompted a restart. The error still persists. However, my install log now says the executable is missing all together.

If I take the new vcredist file I just downloaded out of my vc2013 folder and replace it with the one I downloaded last night that I put on my desktop in the last post (same executable, same download source, I just have multiple of them), my install log says the executable couldn't be installed.

This is all pretty confusing, so if you need anything clarified let me know.

@yahel_1 Thank you for your reply but I have installed those programs multiple times and no matter what the x64 vcredist file can't be installed by Origin. The x86 works fine.

Do you always install them through the Origin folder did you try uninstalling them through programs and then re-downloading through the Microsoft site and then installing by double-clicking on the file you just downloaded ?

Have you tried to give REPAIR to  x64 vcredist file ?

If your issue persist then the only option is to install / reset the operating system.

I got my game to play, uninstall all old vc++ packages and install the latest ones from windows only, give it a try 🙂

@crinrict Thank you for your reply. I just uninstalled all my vcredist_64 files on my computer and moved the programs to the Recycle Bin and deleted them permanently, so I could start from scratch. I also went to Control Panel/Programs/Programs and Features and uninstalled Microsoft Visual C++ 2013 x64 Redistributable. So right now my PC is clean of this program.

Now I download and install the vcredist_64 from the Microsoft website and NOT move it to the Origin folder as you said. So all that is in my vc2013 folder is the vcredist_x86.

I also followed your link and checked for any critical events. I've had this problem since December but I will only show you the most prominent errors from the past week or two that could be related. I have worked on this error the most in the past week or two anyways. None of these errors seems related but here they are:

Host process For Windows Services stopped working. This error is seen twice today, once on 6/9, once on 6/10. Details in spoiler.

avgwdsvc.exe stopped working on 5/27 (occured 468 times. Probably unrelated because I think its an anti-virus I did not unistall correctly, but its worth a shot letting you know.) Details in spoiler.

Windows Shell Experience Host stopped working twice on 6/3. Problem details in spoiler.

Windows hardware error on 6/6.

Failed Defintion Update for Windows Defender - KB2267602 (Defintion 1.223.1292.0) on 6/10. However I checked for updates just now and it said everything was updated. Details below.

Microsoft Compatibility Telemetry stopped working on 6/10.

And that's it. Sorry for the long post. None of these errors seem related but anything to get my game fixed. Thanks again for your help.

@yahel_1 @crinrict By the way all, my vrcedist_x64 file is NOT in my vc2013 folder right now. It's in my downloads. Just a heads up. I feel like it should be, should I put it there?

Yes @sarahthec put it there / RUN IT and restart your PC.

You can run it from any folder. It doesn't have to be in Origin.

NOTE If the steps adove don't work i ran out of ideas, the only solution I can think is to recovery OR reinstall your OS.

@yahel_1 I will try that soon, thank you. As long as it keeps my programs and files. It does, right? Also, for you and @crinrict, I just discovered something with my vcredist_x64. I troubleshooted compatibility with it and found that it was an "incompatible program". I have attached the images of the report.
