TS4.exe is the 32 bit version.
Rightclick the game in Origin and select Game Properties. On the Advanced tab make sure it says The Sims 4 64 bit. Then start the Game.
It is at the 64 bit version.

But you still get the TS4.exe warning? If so there is something seriously wrong. I suggest you uninstall The Sims 4 then reinstall it. If you see an option for The Sims 4 Legacy Edition make sure that this is NOT selected.
- @jpkarlsen I attempted to reinstall again and the only option was to choose where to install it to. No option for 32 or 64 bit. It would probably help if I was a bit more inclined to troubleshooting PC problems but sadly I am not lol. I have attempted everything I've found on these forums and other though to no avail. This includes "repairing" the VCC files and running the ChkDsk command. At least I think that's what the command was. It was a few days ago.

When you after uninstalling and reinstalling start the game do you then still get the TS4.EXE error? No mention of TS4_X64.exe?
- @jpkarlsen I do still get the TS4.EXE error, but no mention of the X64 when it happens.

Please try to run TS4_x64.exe directly. You will find it in this folder: C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\The Sims 4\Game\Bin
- @jpkarlsen Still isn't working sadly.
- @jpkarlsen One thing that I have not been able to do to help get it working I saw was to move the game folder to desktop and see if it works from there. Whenever I attempt that I get another error saying "Folder in Use" and goes onto say "The action can't be completed because the folder or a file in it is open in another program." Which makes very little sense.
- @jpkarlsen Oops, scratch that. I got that issue rectified but it still did not open.

Try to clear Origins cache. https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/faq/clear-cache-to-fix-problems-with-your-games/
- @jpkarlsen Still gave me the same error ☹️

Please post the content of the lastcrash.txt file or upload it to a filesharing site such as Onedrive or Dropbox and post a link.
- @jpkarlsen How does one go about doing that? Sorry for the ignorance.

Open the file in notepad and press ctrl-a to select all and ctrl-c to copy. Then in the answer press ctrl-v to paste. You should use spoiler tags around the text (yellow button).
- @jpkarlsen I tried finding that file and it appears I do not have a lastcrash.txt.

Try to download the C++ files directly from Microsoft. Both x64 and x86 are needed:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=13523
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=5555
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4032938/update-for-visual-c-2013-redistributable-package
Install all 4
Also run SFC /scannow Hello, i am having same problem. i download the files and updated but dosent work
Hello SIMMER
Try this way and update me please. This is how I got my Sims 4 to work again with that error and another issue occurring from origin.
Go to Origin.com once you sign in (in your browser online) go into game library and select The Sims 4, as always select the play with origin button and you will be asked to download origin....or....launch origin.. choose option 2 if origin is already on your laptop\desktop like most of us here seeking for a solution for this problem. By the way origin is experiencing issues for days now not our computers. PS found that out today actually wasted so much time sigh.. Anyway after origin launches (the app itself will open) and BOOM you're game should be A OK... It will open the origin app and the sims game-play loading and everything. please just continue to be patient it will work now.
Note to self as well because after 3 days I was highly impatient,
but beamed when it finally gave me results! origin app is down so going through your internet browser is the only way for now.
Happy Simming!!- @242tee @jpkarlsen
I've download all of those C++ jp, to no avail still. Attempted to run the SFC/scannow and wasn't able to, but I guess I could be trying that wrong? I hit the window button + R and tried to run it through there but nothing happened.
242tee, I attempted that work around and I still get the same error.
I REALLY appreciate you two trying to get this thing to work by the way. Feeling a little defeated and also ripped off. Never have I had such issues trying to play a game I've purchased. I also bought the City Living DLC with it, not sure if anything with that could be the cause or not. - @jpkarlsen Alright, after some handy dandy googling I found that I needed to run the sfc/scannow from the command prompt, however, when I attempt that it says I must be an administrator to do so. The crazy thing is that I most definitely have administrator privileges. I built this computer and also just verified I am an admin, plus the only user of this computer.
- @jpkarlsen Scratch that, also fixed with a Google search lol. Have to right click on CMD and run as adminstrator.
- @jpkarlsen Really sorry to keep tagging you and adding more messages, weird system they've got on this site lol. Wish I could just edit into my older ones. Anyway, I ran the scannow and it told me "Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations." Game still doesn't start.

To edit your previous postings click the 3 dots.
This may be a problem with Origins cache. https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/faq/clear-cache-to-fix-problems-with-your-games/
- @jpkarlsen Same error occurs after doing those steps.
