There's usually Sims at the little picnic area to the south of the lab.

I got another question where is the GraniteFalls? As for my sim Outdoor Enthusiasts for the quests is to catch 5 fish in Granite Falls.
You need to go on vacation through the phone.
You do need the Outdoor Retreat expansion pack
