Saved game files not working

Hi, I recently got a new SSD card for my computer. I wanted to transfer my old save files onto the new SSD card as I had to reinstall my sims game. I looked up on google how to and it said to just copy my old save files into the new sims 4 file. I did that and restarted my computer yet my old sim saves aren't available. I don't know what to do to fix it. I really don't want to lose all my sims, as I love them and worked hard on them aha. can someone please help :)

  • katgurl72  It sounds like either you put the saves in the wrong location, as in, not the user folder the game is currently reading; or the save names are in an unreadable format.  For the first, please confirm that the saves are directly inside the saves folder, not in a subfolder.  Then go into the game and find the full path to the user folder, as described here:

    https://sims4.crinrict.com/eng/2018/07/how-to-find-your-user-folder/

And confirm that the path to the saves is exactly the same up to the Sims 4 folder itself.  To see the full path to the saves, right-click one and select Properties > General, then look at the Location.

If the saves are in the correct location, please post a screenshot of the contents of the saves folder, as in, I'd like to see the save names and sizes.
