B2HAYES Did you move the folder that contains your saves, Tray files, etc.; or the folder that contains subfolders like Delta and Game? The latter is the game's program files and shouldn't be moved at all. If the folder you moved has both groups of subfolders, that's a distinct issue that needs to be addressed.
If you did in fact move the user folder, move it back, then remove the ConfigOverride, Mods, and saves subfolders, and see which problems are still present. If you moved the program files, put them back and find the user folder in Documents > Electronic Arts. If they're combined, let me know.
This is where my game is saved. Base game only. Freshly downloaded. Untouched.
This is the folder I removed the "The Sims 4" folder from which is now on my desktop. If I try to run the game, this folder does not spawn. I just get the error message from before. I tried to open an old game of Sims Medieval and it does spawn (just to confirm it is the correct location and only a problem with sims 4) when I open the game.
