Sims 4- Mouse/Cursor Freezing on Start/Main Load Screen

Looking for some assistance. Upon launching the game from the EA game hub, the game starts and loads through to the main start screen. At that point, the screen freezes along with the mouse cursor. Attempted the following fixes so far and no change: game repair, changing the fullscreen and resolution settings in the options.ini, updated all device/software updates, ensured the game .exe files are allowed on my anti-virus software, removed and deleted mods folder, removed the Sims 4 folder from the Electronic Arts folder to start a clean run (launching the game after this didn't populate a new Sims 4 folder).
