Sims 4 background of sims turns black then app closes

hello! sorry for the late response, i kinda ran out of motivation to fix what was wrong but i have about 10k mods in the sims and idk how to start cleaning it up. 😭

hello again, i just tried to play and i don't think it's the mods. yesterday and the day before, i played for 5-6 hours straight without it crashing. it somehow fixed itself so i just went on playing. today, unfortunately, i opened the game and left it on the lobby screen ( where it says new game, load game etc ) for about an hour since i had chores to do. i came back and opened my save file, i played for about 30-40 minutes til the game crashed again. i'm unsure what the problem is since i don't think it's the mods anymore.

@aegisquared  Your dxdiag shows some potentially significant errors that may or may not be related to Sims 4.  I'd like to take a look at the associated crash dumps.  Please go here:

For the most recent two or three files, right-click them and select Copy, then right-click your desktop and select Paste.  From there, you can zip the files together, upload the .zip to a third-party filesharing site (Google Drive, Dropbox, etc.), and link it here.

hello, i clicked on the folder and it says the folder is empty. 

@aegisquared  Strange, I'd have expected a couple of crash dumps from the errors in your dxdiag.  At any rate, try running a repair install of Windows.  That should take care of at least some of the causes of this kind of error.

This shouldn't erase any of your data, but if you get to step 13 and do NOT see the option to keep personal apps and files, back out and start over.

Once you're done, try to play Sims 4 again.  If you get another black screen or any kind of crash, please look for new errors in the Reliability Monitor.  Hit Windows key-R and enter "perfmon /rel" without quotes, and you'll see a chart of errors and updates with a column for each day.  Today is on the right.

Look for an error that happened at exactly the time of your most recent play session, specifically after you've done the repair install.  If you find one, double-click it to see more details, then copy that info and paste it into a reply here.  If you don't see a new error, check back in an hour or so—the Reliability Monitor doesn't always update right away.
