Hi im having the exact same problem. i really dont know wghat to do anymore i tried deleting all of my mods uninstalling then re installing the game repairing it and still doing the same thing. i can send you the dxdiag if that help. i would really appreciate the help!
0727808 I've split your post into its own thread. Did you try a clean user folder? If not, please do so now: Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop. When you launch the game, a clean folder will spawn with no content. (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you've moved but temporarily unread by the game.) Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just start a new save and see how it runs, that is if you can get that far.
If you get another black screen, please look for new errors in the Reliability Monitor. Hit Windows key-R and enter "perfmon /rel" without quotes, and you'll see a chart of errors and updates with a column for each day. Today is on the right.
Look for an error that happened at exactly the time of your most recent Sims 4 crash. If you find one, double-click it to see more details, then copy that info and paste it into a reply here. If you don't see a new error, check back in an hour or so—the Reliability Monitor doesn't always update right away.
So I tried the clean user folder method it didnt work, I got another black screen, so I tried the Reliability Monitor thing. I checked it an hour later when I first tried to open it today and I didnt see any errors or anything today. I did find an error from yesterday when i first tried to open the game saying the EA app crashed.

0727808 I apologize for the late reply; I've been away from the forums for a while.
This is an EA App error, nothing directly about Sims 4. If it didn't happen at the same time as a black screen, you can ignore it. If it DID happen at the time of a black screen, you can try uninstalling the EA App with Revo Uninstaller (the free version is fine), using the Advanced scanning method, and reinstalling.
Please also install the newest Intel graphics driver Dell offers for your laptop, if you haven't already. You can find it here:

Run the installer as an admin: right-click the download and select "Run as administrator." Restart afterwards and before trying to play.
So it randomly started wroking like a week ago i didnt do anything it just started working. my only problem rn is that its really slow and laggy

0727808 Then I would still try to install the newest graphics driver. If that doesn't help, please post a new dxdiag. Please also post the first 40 or so lines of Config.log, inside Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4. (Stop when you get to the Options section.) You can delete your user and computer names, about 20 lines down; the file doesn't contain any other personal information.
