Sims 4 black screen while loading

Same problem here. Still the same, and my GPU fan gone crazy while Sims 4 is trying to load at launch. I had to exit the black screen launcher through Task Manager because it's just there being blank and making my GPU crazy. I see that a lot of people are experiencing the same.

  • panhugomillikin  I've split your post into its own thread because it's not exactly the same problem, even if it seems like it.  Please provide a dxdiag.  Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.

  • Hi! I also had this exact same issue, I was about to leave a response with all my steps/dxdiag until I remembered I had gshade. After removing the two Gshade folders from Game/Bin, the issue is fixed, even after putting all my mods back it's working flawlessly now.

My apologies. And apologies for the late reply. I fixed my problem by uninstalling my GPU driver and doing a clean install for it and then repairing Sims 4. It seemed the updates corrupted the graphics drivers. But it seems to be running fine when I opened the game after the GPU clean install. I haven't played it yet. Will inform you back later after I play it with the new expansion. Thank you. (dxdiag file attached.)

  • panhugomillikin  Let me know if you need any more help.  I do see from your dxdiag that Razer's Game Manager Service is crashing repeatedly, so I'd suggest uninstalling and reinstalling it, or leaving it uninstalled if Sims 4 isn't working again.

And the Sims 3 crash looks like the Alder Lake issue, but that was fixed for EA App installs.  So try repairing the game within the EA App.  If you need more help with Sims 3, we have a dedicated tech forum:

Update: The latest patch, updates, DLCs, and expansion seem to be running well, but they've been using 99%+ of my GPU on my end, unlike how it was before when it just used mostly 50%-60%. What's up with that? Thanks.

I am having an issue as well with my screen going black upon loading the sims 4. I also have removed my whole sims 4 folder to my desktop and slowly added in my mods...twice. I can't seem to pinpoint the issue but have attaced my dxdiag results. Please, if you can see the problem...it would save me tons of time.

  • janaemommy  Are you still seeing this issue, and does it happen with no mods present?  You could have a broken mod, or a mod conflict, but if it doesn't happen without mods, the problem is your mods.

Separately, are you getting BlueScreens while playing Sims 4, or elsewhere?  The particular BSOD code in your dxdiag (repeated a few times) should only happen when you have Driver Verifier running, so disable that if you're not using it at the moment.
