@Jemeia Do you get an error code? If so, please post a screenshot of it.
Please also try starting a completely new save, and let me know whether it works. I'm not saying you need to play the new save going forward, just that it's a useful test.
Nevermind. I applied the latest patch fix and it worked. Thanks anyways!
sorry to bother you, but could you tell me how you got the patch fix? it's happening to me too and i really want to fix it, thanks. i also tried to play with a new save and it crashed anyway.
@IIrjvcII What patch level do you currently have? You can see it along the bottom of the screen at the Main Menu, where you have the option to load a save or start a new one. A fully patched game will be version 1.63.36.xxxx.
If Origin isn't offering an update, try clearing its cache:
https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/faq/clear-cache-to-fix-problems-with-your-games/
Then restart your computer, and if you still can't update, repair the game first: open your game library, right-click on the Sims 4 icon, and select Repair.
If your game is already fully patched, please move your entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents\Electronic Arts and onto your desktop, and when you launch the game, a clean folder will spawn with no content. Don't add anything yet; just try to start a new save and see whether you can play for a bit. Let me know either way.
- @puzzlezaddict i tried everything and it still didn't work. when i loaded it, it crashed the same way
@IIrjvcII Please run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.
https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/pc/how-to-gather-dxdiag-information/
hopefully i did it correctly
@IIrjvcII Yes, you did it correctly. The Sims 4 crashes aren't all that specific, so it's difficult to point to a particular cause. There are also a few nonspecific system errors listed.
So it's best to start with a couple of checks on your Windows system files. Here's how:
- Hit Windows key-X
- Choose either “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Command prompt (Administrator),” whichever option is offered
- Inside the window that appears, copy and paste “DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth” without quotes into the window, and enter
- The system will start validating soon. If it throws an error, please list it here
- After it reaches 100%, hit Windows key-X again
- Again, choose “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Command prompt (Administrator)”
- Inside the window, copy and paste “sfc /scannow” without quotes into the window, and enter
- Post the message you receive here
Clear Origin's cache as well:
https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/faq/clear-cache-to-fix-problems-with-your-games/
Restart your computer, and repair the game, even if you've done it before: open your Origin game library, right-click on the Sims 4 icon, and select Repair.
Trash the new Sims 4 folder that you created, and let the game spawn another new one. Try to start a new save, and let me know whether it works.
Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files and successfully repaired them.
For online repairs, details are included in the CBS log file located at
windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For example C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For offline
repairs, details are included in the log file provided by the /OFFLOGFILE flag.so first it gave me that and when i went into the log it gave me a cabinet file and a txt file, which one should i link?
Patch 1.63.136.1010. Hope it helped!
