Sims 4 Crashing / blue screen (BSOD)

My game keeps on crashing/blue screens while playing since the update 17. June 2025. I've tried many fixes suggested online such as:

  • Updating Graphics drivers
  • Rolling back graphics driver to a pervious version (I think I did this successfully)
  • Deleting the sims 4/ea folder in "Documents" (done several times)
  • Removing all mods
  • Reinstalled the entirety of the game
  • Repaired the game (several times)
  • Tried playing with both old and new saves
  • Done several commands (sfc /scannow, and some others) in terminal (No errors)
  • No GPU overheating (around 50℃)

None of these things have helped. The crashes happens at random, in CAS, during gameplay and in Build mode. There are no issues when playing other games or doing anything else on the computer.

Have attached my DxDiag, please help.

  • I think i have solved the problem! For anyone with similar difficulties:
    - Go into systems and search for "Fix problems using Windows Update" or similar (my windows is on Norwegian so i might have miss translated the feature)
After the feature have run its course (This takes some time). I simply deleted the "localthumbcache.package" for good measurement.
My game have now been running for over an hour without any issues (it would crash within 15min earlier)

What do you mean "Go into systems"? Windows settings? I have no idea where to find "Fix problems using Windows Update". I've been looking. I did a 'repair' through the EA app, and also deleted the localthumbcache.package. It froze immediately. I only got as far as placing a room. Would love to try what you did, but not understanding what you were looking at.

Windows button->Settings, in settings you have a search bar. There you search for fix problems using windows update, or whatever is equivalent in your windows language
