Sims 4 crashing after a few minutes in live mode

This has been happening to me too. No mods, game has been repaired, EA app has had cache cleared, all drivers are updated. The game crashes after less than 5 minutes of Live mode gameplay. Surprisingly, it doesn’t seem to crash if I’m in Build Mode.

  • RaiseTheRose  I've split your posts into their own thread because the other thread is a giant mess.  The crash itself isn't all that informative (the game crashed because it crashed, due to an access violation, which is an extremely generic category of error).  But I do see that you're playing in DirectX 9 mode.  Is there a reason for that, and does the game run better in DX11 mode?  Please test and let me know even if you want to use DX9 for a particular reason in general.

If you haven't tested a new save yet, please do that too.  Don't add any content from the Gallery or your own library.  It's fine to just randomize in CAS and drop some test sims on an EA-made lot.
