Sims 4 crashing after Sept. 2024 update when I go into build/buy

Same for me :(  I have updated every single mod that I have and it still crashes. Even put in better exceptions mod. I've concluded that it is the grim reaper event that's happening right now. Very frustrating 

ya since the update ive been freezing when trying to save or shut down the game, ive repaired deleted every mod. its so frustrating! im trying to avoid deleting and re downloading everything again....

LilyfrostTheMed Delyrria chromeheartfahgs  Please test with no mods or custom content, as in, move the Mods folder to the desktop and delete localthumbcache.package.  You don't need to save your progress.

Please also delete any files in ConfigOverride, in the same Sims 4 folder as Mods.

If that doesn't help, please try playing in a clean user folder.  Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop.  When you launch the game, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you've moved but temporarily unread by the game.)  Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just start a new save and see how it runs.

If you get yet another crash, please provide a dxdiag.  Hit Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the camera (Insert Media) icon included with the other formatting buttons.

I've been having a similar issue since updating!

I can enter build mode just fine, but once I go to leave suddenly I can't click on anything other than the save menu and manage worlds, but saving and/or going to manage worlds just breaks it further, and I have no choice but to exit. Plus, the Grim's weekly event menu isn't showing up, but I can still do the actions and get the rewards (thanks to the R/Sims4 subreddit for telling me what to do!)

I have mods (MCCC & UI Cheats) and CC (only CAS items), all of which are up to date.

I've found this out in maybe 4 days. If you have updated all your MODS, repaired your game, uninstalled and reinstalled the game and its still crashing in b/b mode try this. Run your Sims 4 game as usual and once the start menu pops up go to Game Options. Under there it should say Direct9 somewhere with a blank box next to it. Click it and a check will appear. Restart the Sims 4 game and repair it. Give it a couple of mins and it shouldn't crash anymore. 

P.S I kind of figured the recent game update was the problem once it switched to Direct11. So switching back made it run smooth again. Also make sure your game settings isn't on Ultra. Mine was for some reason and i switched it back to High, no problems since.

jdmiller221  Please try my suggestions earlier in the thread (both posts), and let me know whether they make any difference.  If not, I'd like to see a dxdiag, as described.

Cheyenne827  For the inability to click anything, please delete any files in ConfigOverride, in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4.

If the event menu doesn't load at all, please test with no mods or custom content.

Mine just won't load. I can get to the main menu, but when I click on play, it is stuck on the loading screen. The plumbob just spins and the tips change, so it's not totally frozen or anything. Just will not ever load the game.

Same for me, and I have no mods or CC
