Sims 4 Detective Notebook problem

I've been playing TS4 GTW for a while and everything has been fine (so far). My sim is a detective and in order to get a promotion, he needs to solve more cases - only one problem, I can't solve this case! I have added my clues to the crime map, and have been left with 16 clues !!  This is what I have to work on..

1. wearing jeans
2. red hair
3. hot headed
4. grey hair
5. an elder
6. male
7. wearing a short sleeve shirt
8. brown hair
9. a teen
10. wearing a skirt
11. a geek
12. female
13. wearing shorts
14. a young adult
15. blond hair
16. wearing slacks

How on earth am I ever going to solve this case?! I've had a look and there seems to be no way to drop a case and get a new one? And there's no possible way I'm ever going to solve this. Help?
