Sims 4 Error Code 533 'Failure to Save'

I've seen this question posted already, however mine was not fixed by removing any custom content. I've played the game with both custom content and also after removing all cc and playing it vanilla just to see if it was cc causing the issue but both ways the error came up. I've moved my 'saves' folder to my desktop as some other forums suggested and that worked as a temporary fix but the issue came back up. I've tried moving my sims to another lot and saving there, but when they returned the game had reset to the last normal save point and I had lost all progress from then on. It's getting extremely frustrating and I think I'm running out of options.

    This is very concerning. Have you tried the repair option in Origin, and also turning off Origin in game?

    Hi @Amaria93

    Try resetting your user files as described in the factory reset described in this post: http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-4/FAQ-Troubleshooting-Steps-amp-Known-Issues/m-p/3621199

    You won't loose anything. Just make sure to not delete any files  and make a backup.

    Try on a new game with nothing added back first (start new game). If it works, put back your save game and try again. If it still works, you can start putting stuff back.

    • Options.ini (or just re-set all your settings manually)
    • Tray Folder
    • Screenshots/Videos/Custom music
    • Rest of the save games (leave out slot_00000001.save which is the autosave)
    • Custom content like clothing, hair, skins, make up ....
    • Mods (one by one, making sure they all still work)

    The rest does not need putting back, cause they are mostly cache files that recreate or log files that are not needed for the game.

    If so, please zip up this folder: documents\electronicarts\thesims4\saves, upload to mediafire or dropbox and PM me the link.

    @Thurze Yes, I've tried both options with no luck ☹️

    @crinrict I've tried removing my saves and different files in the game before and it has only worked as a temporary fix until the issue returns.

    Did you move anything before it occurred again ?

    Do you have any lastexception.txt files you could attach to your post ?

    Not sure what you mean by lastexception.txt files? This error started occurring after I bought the Get Together expansion pack and updated my game to the latest patch. Before that, everything was fine. I haven't noticed any changes to the game when the error occurs and it occurs at random.  Is there any chance of this error being addressed in the next patch update??

    Go here: documents\electronicarts\thesims4\ Do you have any files called lastexception.txt (or something along these lines ? If so, please upload them here.

    I hope they'll help to pin point what the issue is.

    If you also have a save game, that would be great.

    I'll get back to you when I know something.
