Sims 4 freezes in build mode

I've been experiencing this issue for the last two days. None of these methods have fixed the crashing issue. It happens pretty much anytime I open build mode and start placing items/walls/floors/etc. It will let me do something initially, and then just doesn't let me do anything else and essentially freezes. I have to fully sign out of my laptop for the screen to go away.
