Sims 4 latest update CAS and Build/Buy Mode bug(s)

I launched Sims 4 after the latest update yesterday (so all mods still disabled) and created a Sim. Normally the item already applied or worn is selected and in view when you switch categories etc, but now the view just defaults to the top all the time, so you have to scroll though so many items to find the one that's worn. Quite annoying, sure, but I got accustomed to it and finished making the Sim. Then today I started building their new home and noticed a simiar issue in Buy Mode, except this time, when I select an item to place it etc (or in the pre-built rooms case, view it, change colours and purchase it), the view then immediately jumps back up to the top again, even with the thing still selected. This is super frustrating when trying to place multiple similar objects, i.e. things that are near each other in Buy Mode, as you have to keep scrolling back down to where you were from the top again. Depending on the item category this can be tons of items to scroll through. This is more of a problem that saps any and all fun out of building, so I immediately quit the game and came looking for a solution, because that whole aspect of the game is now more effort than fun.
