Sims 4 not launching since updating to EA

  • @MM2597  As a test, please try playing in a clean user folder.  Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop, and when you launch the game, if it launches, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you moved but temporarily not read by the game.)  Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just let me know whether you can get far enough to start a new save and play in live mode for a bit.

    If that doesn't help, please run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.

    Hi, thank you for replying! I will try this when I'm home today, but to add, my partner logged into his account on the EA launcher on my PC and the game launched instantly. I then logged back into mine and it said error again. I believe it's a problem with my account but unfortunately no one from EA has advised on this. I also installed the game on a different PC and it didn't launch, again, with my log in.

    @puzzlezaddict Hi, I just opened the app and there was a Sims update. I tried pressing play just to test again and it's launched straight away, after 6 months of not working! I am guessing whatever the update was fixed it. Thanks for your help though!
