Sims 4 Not Opening

Apparently this is an origin issue. Mine wont work either and many others. Hopefully it is fixed soon.

I hope so, I am so frustrated.  I just got mine today, all excited and then this.  I have uninstalled, reinstalled both the game and origin and it will not work.

There is a fix for this.

There are two things that need to happen for this to get fixed.

Lets see if you can give me more info. Does it just sit there and not open?

I want to to right click on the game and do game properties

In that window type                -w

Hit confirm and try starting the game let me know if that works for you!

Can't answer for OP, but the -w trick only works for a handfull of people, doesn't seem to help for many others though.

I put the sims 4 in, It pops up and says I have to sign in to Origin, Origin starts to update for a second but doesnt finish, it asks me to sign in but says you have to be online...which obviously I am but then it says someting like Origin cant go online at this time...

This happened to me too, so I uninstalled the game to re-install it. But now I can't re-install it since I still have it installed on Origin.
If I now try to install it to my computer from Origin, it instantly says that it's done installing, but I don't have it installed on my computer and I can't open it via origin either. Help?

Delete the game folder manually in file explorer and try again, Origin should detect that the files are missing and redownload/install.

From what I understand, your game attempts to launch (showing the windows loading icon as the cursor) then shuts down with an error.

This could be caused by having the wrong version of Visual C++ installed, the game depends on this to run correctly.

This will not be the issue on Windows 8/8.1.

If you run Windows 7 or below, please try installing this:

Please also read that and see if it can solve your issues.

For some people unable to start the game, your graphics drivers may be outdated. Outdated graphics drivers can and do cause games to not start.
