sims 4 screen keeps turning black

My Sims 4 game keeps flickering black. I had no problems with the game two days ago, but now it keeps flickering, making it impossible to play the game. I have repaired the game in Origin, I used the program linked in this thread to check whether or not my computer was up to date for the Sims 4 and it said everything met the minimum and the recommended, and I tried removing my mods folder and opening up the game again to see if that would help (it didn't). I'm using a PC and my Sims 4 isn't on laptop mode, does anybody know what to do to help this?

  • Have you tried updating your graphics drivers, turning off Origin in-game, playing in Windowed mode and clearing game cache?

    Turn off Origin In-Game:
Open Origin, Select Origin > Application Settings > Origin In Game tab and click the on/off switch to disable Origin In Game. - This deactivates Origin In-Game, as it has been known to cause problems with games.

Restart the computer, to help the computer refresh itself, and try the the game again.

Start the game in Windowed mode:
In Origin - Games Library tab, right-click on Sims 4 and select Game Properties - In the Command Line Arguments, add the following text: -w and click Okay.

Also, you mentioned removing the mods folder, but did you clear the game cache and delete the localthumbcache.package from the Sims 4 folder to help with troubleshooting.
