Sims 4 won’t open: Ea App Error

Thank you so much for taking the time to help! It looks like my driver was having issues due to the latest Windows update. Uninstalled it and now my game is launching normally 😁

LlTTYCAT​  Your dxdiag lists alternating crashes of the graphics driver and BlueScreens that point to some driver (it doesn't specify which one) not behaving properly.  Are you getting the BSODs when trying to open Sims 4, or at least soon afterwards; or is this just a coincidence?

At any rate, please do a clean uninstall and reinstall of the driver, as described here:

If that doesn't help, it's possible the two issues are unrelated.  In that case, a useful test is to create a new admin Windows account and try playing there.  Make it local, as in, don't link it to your Microsoft account or any email address.  (Keep declining until you're asked some security questions.)  You'll be able to at least try to launch Sims 4 without reinstalling anything.

AnnaMamaPlaySims​  I've already made the usual suggestions in this thread.  If the game still doesn't work with zero mods or custom content, then please post a dxdiag.

I'm having the same issue at first I couldn't control my sims so i find out it was a mod issue so after that I repair my game and it was working fine with mods and without mods then I add MCC again and the game was fine but when i return to play again it won't load up (sighs) is beyond fustration so if anyone knows a solution please do share, thank you

maxxejersak​  Does it help to switch to DirectX 11 mode?  The game should default to DX11 mode now, but if you've told it to launch in DX9 mode in the EA App, under Sims 4 > Manage > View properties, remove the command.  If you've selected DX9 in the game options, remove Options.ini from Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4.

If that doesn't help, please try changing the two settings listed in this post from bibliomak:

These settings usually cause a different issue, as you can see from the thread overall, but you do have an affected model Surface, and the "failed to launch game" error is pretty generic at this point, so it's worth trying just to see what happens.

If that doesn't help either, please try playing with your computer offline.  You can sign into the EA App and put it in offline mode, then disable wifi and/or disconnect the ethernet cable before pressing Play.

paperbagkid​  Are you saying that removing your Mods folder DID work?  If that's the case, you'll need to sort through your mods and cc.  If it did NOT work, please provide a dxdiag.

Having the same thing happen. I've tried literally everything to fix it that I could find online, nothing worked. Same thing that removing all my CC worked. Sucks because it was working fine yesterday morning, and I've spent the last two days straight trying to fix it. :/ Good luck to y'all as well!!

Error occurred on our end. I’m having the same trouble with everybody else I guess which is really ridiculous. Everybody finally found a way to fix their game and enjoy the Sims four but we really can’t because of the same situations that are happening with EA. This is going to be frustrating every single time the game update you guys dropped the ball.
