sims 4 won’t run with nvidia graphics

the game only opens and runs when I change the gpu settings from nvidia to low power mode (intel). I have a fairly new gaming laptop, and all my drivers etc are updated, so idk what the issue is. this problem started to occur at the start of January I think, before that the game worked completely fine in nvidia graphics. I have no idea why this is happening, the game is kinda laggy with intel graphics I wanna go back to nvidia 😭😭 (also i tried deleting and reinstalling, removed all mods and deleted all saves. So it’s not that kind of issue)

  • NOOZLX  Does it help to disable the Intel graphics chip entirely?  Please try and let me know.  I realize that this will tank battery life, but it's a useful test.

If this doesn't help, please provide a dxdiag.  Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.

  • NOOZLX  Disabling the iGPU is one workaround for this issue, but so is putting the laptop into night mode.  You can also try this:

However, the more immediate problem is that one of your laptop's graphics drivers is crashing, repeatedly, or more specifically, it's failing to respond in a timely fashion and Windows is crashing it.  That could also crash Sims 4 or prevent it from working.  The Nvidia driver would be the first suspect, but it's best to do a clean uninstall and reinstall of both drivers.  Here's how:

Use the drivers HP provides for your laptop first.  If necessary, you can update the Nvidia graphics driver later, but please test Sims 4 first.  To find the drivers, go here:

    https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/laptops

Enter your serial number, choose your OS (just Windows 11 is fine) if prompted, click All Drivers, expand Driver-Graphics, and download the newest drivers, by version number.  (32 is newer than 31, then the last four digits matter.)

The proper order of operations here is uninstall the Nvidia driver > uninstall the Intel driver > restart > reinstall the Intel driver > restart > reinstall the Nvidia driver > restart, all while offline.
