Sims files not showing in game

I have recently gotten a new windows computer as my last one was outdated. I moved all of my sims files to a hard drive to move them to this computer. The process of moving everything was pretty straight forward. However, when I load into the sims 4, none of my sims files are there even though they're showing in my file explorer. I have done hours of research but cannot figure out how to get my sims save files to show in game. Can anyone help?
