my game launches and gets stuck at the loading screen before the main menu

I’ve been having this issue for two days straight and I’m at a loss.

I wasn’t able to type with my keyboard and open the cheat console for some reason, so i reset the game options, since it worked for me the last time this happened.

But when i opened the game again, it opened on the title screen just fine, then switches to the loading screen before the main menu, but before switching to the main menu, it freezes and it’s in fullscreen and whenever I try to tab out so I can open task manager, it remains on the frozen loading screen.

It's not a mod issue, since it does this vanilla too, I've already repaired the files twice and nothing. Restarted the laptop 10 times, opened it in dx11, updated my reshade, took out the reshade, nothing. I'm at a loss, troubleshooting on google isn't helping either since nobody else is having this exact problem it seems.

Mine has been doing that too for 3 days now. I removed all my mods and have had to force restart my laptop every single time I open up the game. Even without mods, my frozen screen still says that the mods are up and running, even though the Mods folder is empty. The music still plays as normal too. I thought it was because I recently bought the Lovestruck pack and right after I installed, this has been happening. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one with this issue!

  • m00nilas  Try forcing the game to open in windowed mode.  Edit your new Options.ini file to set fullscreen to 0 (zero).  Please also delete any files in ConfigOverride, in the same Sims 4 folder.

If that doesn't help, since you previously had ReShade, please delete the Bin folder, in [install location]\The Sims 4\Game, and repair the game again.  You'll need to close the App and kill the EABackgroundService in the Task Manager in order to delete the folder.

If that doesn't help either, please provide a dxdiag.  Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.
