Sims freezes but time goes on

Hi

I think this is an ongoing issue as I seen posts with same issue from 5 years ago... everything in the household/lot just freezes for hours (game time) and you can only cancel the action, even that the time needs to pass for hours for it to cancel. I was hoping installing the DLC can fix the issue - but no luck.

My assumption is that the current save I have is corrupted. However I dont want to start a new one because I have invested a lot of time on that one save. I do not use any MODs and my Sim is simple - one female with two cats. I notice the issue started to happen after I purchased horse, at the same time I also started to get some improvements from the point shops something like - Never need to shower or never need to sleep. 

Anyone has come up with a solution over the last few years please HELP!!!

    Mine is doing the same! Game clock freezes but sims are stuck in idle animations, but time is still passing, I can see when I hover on the seasons thing at the bottom the days are going by 😩 i keep seeing the old posts about the issue but no fixes

    shelly91220 rebeccajackson  If you'd still like help, please let me know whether this happens in a different household in the same save, and in an entirely new save.  If only your main household is affected, try moving the sims to a different lot and see whether that helps.

    Hi! I am having this same issue, and my mods and cc aren't causing it because I tried taking them out, and it still happens. It happens with my current household, but it also happens with other households I go to. I tried repairing the game, and it did nothing. I am not sure what is causing it.

    shelly91220  Please provide a dxdiag.  Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.

    my game is still doing this!!! even with the recent update UGH all my save files are doing it... my whole sims 4 is unplayable at this point.
